Add a Little Quilty Love to Your Home

One of the things I love to make and display on my tabletop quilt stand, is a 12" block.  These little "quilts" go together fast and can be quilted on your home sewing machine.  Binding is a breeze because you can either machine bind or hand bind the 48" in a snap!  To find inspiration for a block to try, Quilt N Go has the Block Tool which has 105 blocks to choose from.

Trying a new block is always fun and this handy tool is easy to use.  Choose a few scraps or a couple of new fat quarters and you are on your way.  I have a little tabletop quilt stand which I purchased from QNG and have made a few 12" quilt blocks which I then quilted and finished with binding and a hanging sleeve.  These are quick little projects which is about all I have time for right now and put a smile on my face as I see them welcoming guests to my home.  Here's one I made using the Block Tool with fat quarters from the shop.  The block is called Dutch Rose and the fabrics are from our 30s department.

Stay tuned for more fun ideas to add some quilty love to your home!  Enjoy the warm weather and sunshine, but wish for rain days when you can stay inside and quilt!

Block of the Month Fun!

Every year, all the employees at Quilt N Go choose a Block of the Month to feature.  This year, Joyce chose to make 12 Mug Rugs and her group is having a blast! This month, Joyce asked all the participants to make a Mug Rug to swap.  Looks like they enjoyed the swap, doesn't it?  I know Joyce has some other fun activities planned for her group.

If you haven't signed up for one of the BOMs, here's what we are doing...Ruth is making a wallhanging with 4" blocks, half of which are pieced and half appliqued.  Teresa is making the quilt "Be My Neighbor" and her group is also making up stories about their quilt neighborhoods!  Linda is  making a quilt called "Nancy's Fancy" and has a beautiful color combination of blues and browns.  I am making a quilt called "A Tisket, A Tasket" featuring 30s prints.  There is definitely something for everyone this year!

If you haven't been in the shop lately, you need to come over!  We have gotten in quite a few new fabrics and patterns which will inspire you to create.

And...don't forget to sign up for the August retreat!

Happy Quilting!
